Creating the overview screen required a significant amount of optimization, which meant that the avatars had to be designed with a specific number of polygons and compressed texture maps. However, once a visitor was assigned a character, a high-quality video of the character was displayed in a separate window. This allowed for the use of more polygons and greater detail in the design.
Each character had a unique, custom-designed outfit that was modeled and simulated using Marvelous Designer, an industry-leading software for creating realistic clothing.

SMASH created the characters for an interactive exhibition at the CaixaForum museum in Madrid. The exhibition featured an abstract family of characters, each representing different perspectives on gaming held by visitors to the museum. SMASH was in charge of the character design, art direction and animation.

One of the challenges with developing the character design was maintaining a consistent and cohesive style while still keeping each character's personality.
The goal was to give them all unique attributes without relying on apparent stereotypes. By avoiding clichés, we ensured that visitors could recognize themselves in their assigned character.
